Between 2002 and 2021, there have been many different productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream created by Shakespeare’s Globe.
Some of them were performed here at the Globe Theatre whilst others toured other venues across the world.

The first production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to take place in today’s Globe Theatre was directed by Mike Alfreds and played in repertoire during the summer of 2002.
Our 2008 version of the play saw performances in the Globe Theatre from May to October of that year. The production was directed by Jonathan Munby and designed by Mike Britton. Photographer: Manuel Harlan.
2009 & 2010
Directed by Raz Shaw and performed on an Elizabethan-inspired stage by eight actors, this small troupe of travelling players brought new life to Shakespeare’s comedy. Photographer: Fiona Moorhead.
The 90 minute production aimed at High School students was directed by Bill Buckhurst. This production went on to tour in the UAE and Qatar. Find out more about this production with its dedicated website.
Part of the 2012 Globe to Globe Festival. Performed in Korean by Yohangza Theatre Company, from Seoul, South Korea and directed by Jung-Ung Yang. Their performance combines music, mime, song and dance to create an exhilarating adaptation of Shakespeare’s inventive and glittering comedy. Rent or Own this production on the Globe Player.
