Shakespeare’s Globe has taken the difficult but responsible decision to close our doors to the public until further notice, ceasing performances, education activities and tours.
As you can imagine, this has been one of the hardest decisions we have had to make, but a necessary one as we consider the safety and well-being of both the public, staff and volunteers.
We hope to open the doors to our wooden O as soon as possible – but in this unprecedented time for theatre, and as a charity that receives no annual government subsidy, we are in desperate need of donations to help us to continue to strive in the future.
We ask at this time of huge risk to our beloved theatre that you donate if you can. Any amount, large or small, will be hugely appreciated.
With love, solidarity and thanks to you all from the whole Globe family.
Ifwhen we meet again, why, we shall smile
Presented as part of the Roundhouse’s Last Word festival, the runaway success that is BoxedIN CLASH returns to the London stage – this time, with added candles.
After the mania of North Vs South, and the battle of East Vs West, the winners of the respective clashes from the last two years go head to head to complete the trilogy of London clashes and headline the biggest poetry night of the year.
The CLASH this year is between East London and South London, and where better for the showdown than SE1?
BoxedIN CLASH takes its cues from sound clash culture, two team captains selecting a team of poets to represent their ends and go head to head in a fast-paced back and forth poetry clash.
Expect whistles, horns, irreverence, passion, music, special guests and of course beautiful poetry to bring the famous BoxedIN energy to the Globe for the first time ever.
Who wins? You decide.
