Bring Othello to life in this fun and practical workshop in the most amazing space – on the Globe stage!
Take a fresh approach to studying Othello with this practical exploration of the play. This in-depth session uses activities and games designed to draw out elements of the play’s language, characters and themes.
Othello explores themes of love, power, revenge and race. Structured around Iago’s evil machinations, the play draws its audience into a deadly game of manipulation that explores how prejudice, power and control functions in society. The play also has rich language exploring relationships, love and the power of words.
The workshop is created for young people aged 15+ who have an interest in Drama or English Literature and is an engaging way to enhance studies of Shakespeare or theatre. No previous experience is required, just a desire to jump in and enjoy exploring this famous tragedy.
Workshops will be led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced practitioners who include actors, teachers and directors. These extended workshops run over two hours and offer an extensive opportunity for aspiring young actors and Shakespeare enthusiasts to explore text in depth and learn from the Globe team.
Please note that these workshops are designed for young adults aged 15+, but tickets must be purchased by someone 18+.
