Hello world, we’re coming to you live from Shakespeare’s Globe! This year, our Summer 2021 Romeo & Juliet will be live streamed from the Globe Theatre and you can watch from home.
Verona is sick. Its structures broken and its citizens in a state of desperation. When a system favours the few, the many are left with nothing but unhealthy choices.
Amidst the violence, bloodshed, fear and unrest, two teenagers find unexpected relief in each other. But will love be enough to save them from society’s sickness?
This 2021 production has various live performances dates from June to October – with just two of these performances, on 10 July and 7 August, being live streamed to the world.
Live stream ticket prices start at just £5 per household with an option to donate on top.
‘Black and portentous must this humour prove
Unless good counsel may the cause remove’
– Act I, scene 1
This production contains depictions of suicide, moments of violence and references to drug use. It contains gunshot sound effects and the use of stage blood.
If you have any questions or concerns about these elements, please contact our Box Office team for further information about the production.
