Guidance for those visiting the Globe or wishing to attend ceremonial events this September
As London prepares for Her Majesty The Queen’s Lying-In-State and State Funeral, we expect the area around our Bankside home to be busier than usual. Here’s some information to help plan your visit if you are attending a performance, event or guided tour at Shakespeare’s Globe, or will be in the Bankside area for the Lying-In-State.
This page will be updated as more information becomes available. You can also visit GOV.UK for further details.

In accordance with the wishes of the Royal household and government guidance, all other performances at the Globe will continue as scheduled during this period of National Mourning.
Travelling to the Globe
We expect public transport services and transport hubs to be extremely busy during this period of National Mourning, and recommend that you plan your journey in advance and give yourself extra time to travel to the Globe.
Our nearest stations are: Blackfriars (10 minute walk); Mansion House (10 minute walk); Southwark (15 minute walk); St Paul’s (15 minute walk); and London Bridge (15 minute walk). London Bridge will be open 24-hours from Wednesday 14 September, with trains running hourly.
Please visit Transport for London or National Rail for the latest updates.
Visiting the Globe for a performance, event or guided tour
All ticket holders for performances, events and guided tours at Shakespeare’s Globe will need to enter the building via our main entrance on New Globe Walk.
The Groundling Gates entrance will not be open for performances.
We anticipate our main entrance will be busier than usual, and you may have to queue for longer for entry into our theatres.
