Youth Theatre

Are you aged 11 – 19? Have you ever considered becoming a professional actor, director or theatre-maker? Are you curious about the work of Shakespeare and his peers and why they are still being performed today? Do you want to work with industry professionals alongside like-minded and committed peers?

The Globe’s Youth Theatre is a weekly training programme for young performers hungry to engage with acting and performance. Led on-site at Shakespeare’s Globe by experienced, professional actors and directors, members of the Youth Theatre will get the unique chance to immerse themselves in the Globe’s radical and experimental approach to the work of Shakespeare and its continued relevance to the modern world through a varied programme of workshops, performances and showcases.

Youth Theatre members will also get to see at least one Shakespeare’s Globe production for free every year and each term will conclude with a showcase of work developed across the term in one of the Globe’s unique playing spaces to an invited audience of friends and family.

Our Youth Theatre runs termly alongside the academic calendar and costs £295 per term.

“We studied everything Shakespeare; we analysed the language, found hidden meanings and related it to our lives. And we learnt techniques useful for our future acting careers, with the Globe bringing out the best in each of us. Nothing beats it!”

— Esme, 12

“I applied for Youth Theatre because I wanted to get better at learning lines and get to know some of Shakespeare’s plays. Anybody who wants to be more confident and make new friends with people that have similar interests should join. It was a really rewarding experience that everyone would find enjoyable!”

— Eve, 14
