Our workshops encapsulate the spirit at the core of all our work – that plays should be explored actively. They can be based on any Shakespeare play and are delivered at the Globe or in your school.
What to expect from a lively action workshop
- Practical, interactive workshop based on your chosen learning objective(s)
- A range of activities and games designed to draw out elements of the plays’ characters and themes
- Language-based activities that explore the text at word level
- Explore a range of interpretations to encourage an informed personal response
- For on-site visits, a 30-minute talk in the Globe Theatre

LOCATION AND COSTS
At Shakespeare’s Globe
Capacity
35 people per group (inclusive of students and adults).
If you have a larger group, we will split into multiple workshops.
Cost
State schools: £12 per student (min £240 per group).
Other UK schools: £14 per student (min £280).
International: £16 per student (min £320).
Timings
Workshops run on weekdays at 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm.

Teacher Ratios
1:10 teacher to student ratio.
Teachers outside of this ratio must be paid for at the rate of a student ticket, unless they are 1:1 support for an access patron within your party, who go free.

Capacity
35 people per group (inclusive of students and adults).
If you have a larger group, we will split into multiple simultaneous workshops.
Requirements
For in-school workshops, you must book two or more consecutive sessions. Scheduling details can be discussed when booking.
Workshops must take place in a space that is large enough for students to move around in. If a drama studio or school hall is unavailable, a large classroom with desks and chairs pushed aside would also work well.
Only available to mainland UK schools.
Cost for 60-minute practical drama workshop
State schools: First two workshops at £360 (additional workshops: £120 each)
Other UK schools: First two workshops £420 (additional workshops: £140 each)
Optional Virtual Tour
You can also add an optional 30-minute Virtual Guided Tour of the Globe Theatre (requires the use of projection facilities). When booking, please indicate if you would like to add this.
Cost for 60-minute workshop + 30-minute virtual tour
State schools: First two workshops at £540 (additional workshops: £180 each)
Other UK schools: First two workshops £630 (additional workshops: £210 each)
Practitioner travel expenses will be charged to your school if you are located outside the M25.
