The Great Feast

A festival of language and song

23 August – 22 September       SAM WANAMAKER PLAYHOUSE

In its day, Bartholomew Fair was one of London’s biggest summer fairs. To launch our production of Bartholomew Fair and continue our summer-long journey celebrating all that is wild and wonderful about our ‘sceptred isle’, we are holding The Great Feast, a four-week festival of language, laughter and song.

Starting on 25 August with the return of the ‘irresistible’ (The Times) and ‘fabulously unrestrained’ (The Guardian) Alehouse Sessions, our series of candlelit concerts will take us on an exhilarating journey through the past and present of folk traditions and song.

They have been at a great feast of languages,
and stol’n the scraps.
