Suitable as introductory or revision sessions, Study days are tailored to exam board requirements, include workshops, seminars and theatre tours and can be delivered at the Globe or in your school.
Key activities
- On-site: a guided visit of the Globe Theatre exploring social, historical and cultural context of the play.
- In your school: a virtual tour of the Globe Theatre exploring social, historical and cultural context of the play, using the Globe 360 app.
- Practical, interactive workshop exploring aspects of plot and characterisation
- Practical, interactive workshop exploring key themes and analysing language
- Explore a range of interpretations to encourage an informed personal response
- A take away booklet to support revision
Curriculum links
The GCSE Study Day is tailored to meet Assessment Objectives 1-3 on the English Literature GCSE specification (for all exam boards):
AO1: Read, understand and respond to texts. Students should be able to:
- maintain a critical style and develop an informed personal response
- use textual references, including quotations, to support and illustrate interpretations.
AO2: Analyse the language, form and structure used by a writer to create meanings and effects, using relevant subject terminology where appropriate.
AO3: Show understanding of the relationships between texts and the contexts in which they were written.

LOCATION AND COSTS
At the Globe
£25* per student.
(UK only – please see international pages for other rates)
Maximum of 35 students per Study Day.
Teachers/adults are free on a 1:10 ratio to pupils. £25 per adult outside the ratio. Up to four adults can attend each workshop. All additional 1:1 support staff for SEND students admitted free.
Minimum charge of £500 (for under 20 students).
A £2.50 administration charge applies per booking.
Dates and times
The day includes a Globe Theatre tour (30 minutes) and two practical workshops (90 minutes each).
We are a working theatre, which means that whilst we will always do our best to accommodate you at a date/time of your preference, we may need to make some adjustments based on our programming.

In your school
£750* per Study Day
Maximum of 35 pupils per Study Day.
Outside the M25, a £40 surcharge will be added to cover travel time. For schools more than 2 hours away, this surcharge will be £60.
Outside the M25, travel and accommodation costs (where applicable) will be added.
A £2.50 administration charge applies per booking.
Dates and times
The day includes a virtual Globe Theatre tour (30 minutes) and two practical workshops (90 minutes each).
