GROUP GUIDED TOURS TERMS & CONDITIONS.

By booking your group on a Guided Tour at Shakespeare’s Globe you agree to the following terms & conditions

This page was last updated on Tuesday 18 May 2021.

Our maximum group size is 30 people on a Globe Theatre Tour. This is due to Shakespeare’s Globe adhering to UK Government Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines. Groups larger than this size will be split across two guides or more.

If you are fewer than 30 people and would like an additional guide for your group, there will be a £65 surcharge. Please contact us for more information.

Our minimum group size is 15 people. Please inform us if the numbers in your party fall below 15 people, or rise above 30 people. This is due to the number of guides we will need to allocate for your group. Failure to inform us of these changes, may result in not all members of the group receiving a tour, or having to pay for additional members of the party who do not attend.

A £2.50 booking fee is applied to all telephone and online bookings for individuals and groups.

All bookings must be paid for and confirmed 28 days prior to the booking. Failure to do so may result in your booking being cancelled.

Payment can be made via credit card or BACS. Any card or BACs payments must be made with sufficient time to allow the funds to be cleared with us 28 days prior to the booking. Card payments can be made over the phone by calling  020 7401 9919.

If the booking is made within 28 days of your visit, payment will need to be made by card within 48 hours of booking being confirmed by our Ticketing & Sales Team. Payment by BACS will not be accepted at this time.

All pre-payments are non-refundable, groups can exchange their tickets 24 hours prior to date of booking for a credit note, which will be valid for 12 months.

Prices are exempt from VAT.

1 complimentary ticket is offered on every 16th person on the Globe Theatre Guided Tour, which is deducted off the higher price ticket within the group.

If your visits includes refreshments, please inform us of any dietary requirements at least 14 days prior to the visit.

Refreshments are not provided for complimentary tickets; if required refreshments will need to be paid in full.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide lunch space for groups due to space restrictions and adhering to UK Government Coronavirus (Covid-19) guidelines.

Groups need to arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure time, at the entrance by the Groundling Gates on Bankside (SE1 9DT, opposite the river) where a staff member will greet group at an outdoor information pod.

If you are running late for your tour start time, please call our Ticketing & Sales Team on  020 7401 9919 (Tuesday to Sunday), or email. Late arrival of booked parties may lead to rearrangement of agreed time, cancellation to part of the visit, or cancellation of the entire visit.

The group leader remains responsible for the conduct of all group members whilst on the premises.

Group Confirmation issued via email by our Ticketing & Sales Team will need to be presented on the day of visit, or the booking order number quoted to again access to booked activity. Printed copies of the Group Confirmation will not be retained by Globe staff, nor will individual paper tickets be printed and issued to group on the day of their visit.

Shakespeare’s Globe is a working theatre, so there may be occasions when we have restricted access or certain procedures in place. Some work may involve loud and sudden noises.

We may have rehearsals taking place in the theatre throughout the year. During this time photography may be prohibited.

Filming is not permitted at any time on our guided tours.

There are several flights of stairs to the start of your visit and during the Globe Theatre tour. Our aim is to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. We believe that equal access can only be achieved with your input, so please let us know of any SEN or access requirements prior to visit by emailing us. We will then work with our Access and Visitor Experience Teams, to make sure that everything is in place for your group’s visit and to ensure you receive all relevant information prior to visit.

There is a limit on the size of bags that can be brought on to the site. The maximum bag size is 40cm x 35cm x 19cm. We are not able to admit oversized bags or store these.

Those over the age of 11 must wear a face covering for the duration of their visit, unless they are exempt. Further information on our Coronavirus (Covid-19) safety measures.
