Bring Macbeth to life in this practical and interactive workshop, designed for the over 12s, in our reconstruction of Shakespeare’s original performance space.

Ideal for young people with an interest in Drama or Literature, this workshop uses a range of activities and games designed to draw out elements of the play’s language, characters and themes through practical drama activities.

Encouraging the development of an informed personal response to the play, underpinned by understanding the play’s relationship to the unique performance conditions of the Globe, this session provides the perfect headstart or accompaniment to your GCSE English Literature studies. No previous experience is required, just a desire to jump in and enjoy exploring one of his spine-tingling tragedies.

From its fascinating first moments to the final fulfilment of the witches’ prophecy, Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s darkest and most powerful tragedies – a gripping account of one man’s determination to secure his ambition and destiny, the crown of Scotland, by whatever means necessary…

Workshops will be led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced educational practitioners who include actors, teachers and directors.

By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes

Tickets must be purchased by over 18s, but this event is designed for young people 12+ to attend without parents/carers (i.e. this is not an event for whole families). Drop off/pick up will be in the main foyer of Shakespeare’s Globe.
